BIGGEST NEWS, January 21, 2010
While we did consider closing the restaurant at the end of January for "reorganization," it now looks like we can stay open for the indefinite future while reorganizing. A gratifying number of customers have expressed interest in investing. Call Paul.

See Events for details about live music, Valentine's Special Dinner, Wine Dinner with Ridge Vineyards, free corkage night, and more.

Our current art exhibit is a collection of photographs
from Mongolia by Peter Kenez, Professor Emeritus of History at UCSC.

"All Charm, All the Time"
Santa Cruz Weekly:

"OIL PAINTINGS line the graceful rooms, white cloths and fresh flowers top the tables. Owner Paul Cocking greets guests, pours wine. Brad Briske's team rocks the kitchen. And between a fine lineup of California wines and a nightly menu showcasing local specialty items, this is arguably the best dining in town." Read more...

We are open again for lunch serving unique pizzas, salads, soups, and sides. Have a look at the latest sample menu: November, 2009. (Note: closed for lunch on Mondays.)

Located in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, we opened our doors in December of 1992. Our desire to serve only the freshest seasonal local organic produce underlies everything we do. We are especially pleased to announce a partnership with beautiful Lindencroft Farm, owned and operated by Linda and Steven Butler. Linda grows specialty crops for our kitchen.

And with the Santa Cruz Farmers Market only three blocks away, we are doubly blessed. Fresh vegetables and fruit from organic farms around Santa Cruz (Free Wheelin' Farm, Route 1, and Dirty Girl Produce) are abundant on our menus. We use sustainably and humanely raised meats, and sustainable seafoods.

In January of 2009, Bradford Briske was promoted from Sous Chef to Chef. A graduate of the Gourmet Institute in New York City, Brad previously served in the kitchen at acclaimed Millennium in San Francisco. Brad's work is fresh and inspiring, perhaps more than any chef yet at Gabriella Café. He brings humility and a natural inclination for running a happy kitchen, and we think you will find the proof in the pudding, so to speak.
